Jaljeera with a funny quiz

I have always been drafting a memory to go with my recipe on the post… Or if not, I pen down behind the scenes! Let’s do something different this time… I have come up with an idea to post a quiz along with a recipe!!! And you gotta reply all these questions in comment section with the 1st answer that comes to your mind :P

I enjoy each silly simple thing… That makes me happy! And so I feel I should ask you the same silly questions… There is no better way to know my foodie-friends… :) Your questions are (unfortunately, I don’t offer 4 options like AB does):

Now, coming back to recipe of the day! A glass of super refreshing, digestive and delicious appetizer – “Jaljeera“. It helps you stay lively in scorching heat of summer!!!

Back in India, I had it several times at ‘Kankaria Lake’ where the street-vendors are used to keep it in a big clay-pot (matka)! It helps keeping it cool but refrigerator isn’t a bad option to try it at home… It’s really so quick!

JALJEERA

Serves: 4

INGREDIENTS:

10-12 Mint leaves
1/4 cup Coriander leaves
1 tsp Chopped ginger
1 tbsp Cumin powder
A pinch of Black pepper powder
1 tsp Black salt
1/4 tsp Salt
1 tbsp Tamarind paste
1/2 tsp Sugar
4 cups Chilled water

STEPS TO FOLLOW:

  1. Take all the ingredients in a mixture jar and grind it to make a smooth paste.
  2. Transfer it to a big bowl and add chilled water into it.
  3. Mix and then strain directly in the glasses.
  4. Garnish with mint leaves and enjoy it chilled!!! :)

SJ’s NOTE:

  • Lemon juice is a replacement for tamarind paste…
  • Can be served with panipuri by adding ‘masala boondi’ on top.
  • Stays fresh in refrigerator for 2-3 days… Stay chilled!!!
